DRC offers it's facilities to many organizations such as FFA (Future Farmers of America), Tipton County 4H clubs, etc. DRC also host Rodeos, Truck/Tractor/Pony Pulls, NBHA shows, etc.
Mr Charlie Dacus started the club in 1951 and ordered the books and information for the first set of by-laws and the specifics for the arena size. It was named Dacus Riding Club in his honor.

DRC has changed locations at least four times in it's 60 year history, the most recent was in 2004, when it was relocated from Munford to Highway 51 South in Brighton.

The first arena was on Mr. Bill Williams' property just off Highway 51 and Crosstown, then was moved to the South end of Munford near the corner of Tipton Road and McCormick Road. In 1968 it was moved again to the north side of Munford behind Dr. Sid Witherington's house. The following year it was moved again, this time to Dacus Drive in Munford where it remained for the next 34 years. In 2004 it was moved to its present location on approximately 20 acres next to the Tipton County Landfill, and is rapidly growing into one of West Tennessee's busiest and most popular riding clubs.

DRC sponsors Rodeos, horse clinics, and horse shows to offer an opportunity for our young children and youth to learn and hone their skills in the equestrian fields. The proper show preparation for horse and rider, the grooming and handling of their horses, proper riding accessories and general good health are emphasized, as are the sportsmanship attitudes that are necessary in competition.

DRC sponsors benefit shows to aid in assisting groups or families that have special needs. This helps the community to become aware of an issue and creates a spirit of giving and growth. Although DRC is a family oriented organization and facility we also have a large number of adults that ride and compete. During the regular riding season the horse riders enjoy a variety of events, such as: Western Pleasure, Barrels, Poles and fun events. These shows are attended by members as well as visitors with all enjoying good fun and companionship.
The goal of Dacus Riding Club has always been to promote sportsmanship, animal husbandry, community involvement, and to foster amateur athletic competition.

The ultimate goal for DRC is to raise funds and eventually build an indoor riding facility which will allow us to host a large number of activities year round regardless of the weather. The facility will also be available for use by the FFA - Future Farmers of America, the 4-H - Head, Heart, Hands and Health and the NARHA -North American Riding for the Handicapped Association, and other organizations that promote our youth. Awards
Dacus Riding club host an award banquet. At this banquet every class that averages at least 3 riders per show will receive awards for places first through fifth. The club also ensures that no youth rider is left with out some type of award.
